I don't think anyone hates UP, the institution ... more likely, they just hate some UP personalities for varied reasons (mayabang, egotistic, feeling superior, presumptuous, etc.), in other words personality-based, either bred by the institution or their peers. It is hardly social polarity because UP prides itself with having students and alumni covering the entire economic spectrum. Neither is it because they did not pass the UPCAT nor because of non-payment of taxes as these are presumptively arrogant issues that have nothing to do with their hate. Whether good or bad, UP is unique, a sui generis, you either hate it or you love it ..... parang si Jaworski lang! 🙂

I think there were sacrifices that i’ve made that made my life a whole lot better. If i would follow what my relatives had advised and think of what is best for me, i wouldn’t be where i am today. I rememberedwhen i was 11 years old, one of my Aunts asked me what i wanted to do when i grow up - I wanted to be a writer, i replied and they made fun of me. Nobody would want to marry a WRITER! they taunted. So my journey began for not listening to their advice anymore and my mindset gave me the determination to work on what i wanted to do for myself, working for myself and improving myself. With so much going in my homelife - i decided to leave home after i graduated highschool and become a working student. At 18 i got a job from an Ad Agency and worked my through. I didn’t look back. I was gone from home for 20 years. People often procastinate about what they wanted to do, what life would have been or if my parents would have been kinder or either would have been there for my graduation. Everybody have a lot of issues and most of the people drown themselves with their anxiety and aims for perfection. I’m sorry if i’ve said my piece too long but hear me out as a big sister to a lot of young people who are struggling. YOU ARE ENOUGH. You are a survivor of all the chaos that happened in your life. All those lousy relationship decisions you’ve had and jobs that you wish you could have. You got what it takes to thriveand make it into the day with only enough money in your pocket. You can work things through with your issues by getting better. There are tons of resources out there than can help you. Fix your bed, clean your room, stand straight and take a good hike.

Not really. Technically, my goal was to get the things I love and missed back when I was a kid/teen then kill myself when I get to 30 since I'm kind of fulfilled already. That was until I fell for a girl and now I'm regretting not making good life decisions since I wanted to give the best for her. While I was able to get all the things I love besides being in job that I always wanted to be, that one thing I didn't get made me feel lonely as I trudge through my life. I had to give up that dream job so I that I can help my mother on her finances and medicine for 6 years and now I just feel so miserable. I tried my best to keep spinning my negativity about work by motivating myself to like the work I'm doing where I even sleep every night repeating those words in my head but I only end up being more miserable as the years went by. It came to the point where I'm so depressed that I don't want to work anymore and ended up resigning as I have lost my motivation to do anything anymore. If it weren't for meeting my girlfriend 3 years ago, I would have gone insane already and went ahead with my scheduled suicide earlier than expected. I know this is kind of heavy but I don't know where to let this out. I'm not asking for any consolation or any help but I hope you can let me post this here.

Internet trolls hate UP. Why? Is it just because they need a target of their hates? Is it social polarity? Did they not pass the UPCAT? I would money. Unfortunately, money does get things moving. Consider yourself lucky if you can make.money out of your passion. If we are being idealistic, we should choose passion. Realistically, choose money. Then make enough money to pursue your passion, if you still have the time.

When the Senate hearings raised more questions than answers about Sinovac, “our officials were both tongue-tied and stuttering, leaving us with a string of flip-flopping pronouncements,” he stressed. “Perhaps if the Senate did not tackle the controversy on Sinovac and assuming the [supposed] original price of P3,629 or $38 per two doses or P1,814 equivalent to $19 per shot was followed, compared to the $5 [price] in Thailand, easily the price difference of 25 million doses would fetch $350 million or P16.8 billion [savings for the government or kickbacks for some people],” Lacson said in Filipino and English. “That being said, I am not prepared to accuse anyone in particular of corruption. Rather, it defies logic to suspect at least an attempt to overprice the vaccine,” Lacson pointed out. “Again, when there is an attempt at overpricing, isn’t it also logical to think na may kikita ng limpak-limpak na salapi (that someone will earn huge amount of money [from this vaccine procurement])?” he added. “When the Pfizer issue came about, we asked: ‘Who dropped the ball?” We haven’t even gotten a clear answer, Mr. President. Francis Pangilinan’s resolution that led to the Committee of the Whole hearings helped expose the seeming overprice of Sinovac. Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said the inconsistencies in the price of vaccines had created apprehension among the people. “The public is worried that some people may be getting kickbacks from the procurement of vaccines,” he said. “Let us not forget that under our Constitution, right to information is a basic rule. The people deserve the truth,” the senator added. “Now, Secretary [Carlito] Galvez [Jr.] said that the price cannot be revealed because there is confidentiality agreement. That I dispute but I am willing to concede,” he continued. “I am disputing that because in the case of Chavez vs Public Estates Authority, the Supreme Court said the people are entitled to know what happens at every stage of the negotiation,” Drilon said. “My message to Secretary Galvez, you said that you have signed a term sheet. If there is a term sheet, it shows there the price, volume and schedule of delivery.” “What was written there? That is no longer covered by confidentiality [clause] because it has been signed already. The term sheet can no longer be changed,” Drilon said in Filipino. “For me, Secretary Galvez, this is your obligation to inform the people. These are public funds. The people have the power to demand information as stated in our Constitution and Supreme Court,” he stressed. “They say why politicize [the vaccine procurement]? We’re not politicizing it.
