  1. For a country that claims :bayanihan" as part of its culture, it's difficult to find this in practice. People patronizing products that have been manufactured abroad over its local counterpart. Surely our country would progress faster if people buy Philippine - made products.

  2. I'm in my 30s and I'm still at the point in my life where I collect toys, play video games, watch cartoons/Animé, and read comic books/manga. Yes, I have a career, and I do have some plans for my future. Is this normal? Or is it ok, since I am living my life and I enjoy every minute of it.

But then there's something or someone who made you smile and voila your frown has just turned into a smile. Just wanna know who or what made you smile today. It can be a person anything , even trivial things ! Thanks and keep posting.

  5. Hinde ka gutom...actually napaka valid ng point mo sir...Imagine if each and every made in China product has a ''PHILIPPINE MADE'' parts/components...eh di wow di ba?

  6. Add to the fact that we thought or to put it lightly trained the Thailanders and the Vietnamese rice tech, farmers etc in IRRA in Los Banos,Laguna.

  7. Bayanihan is widely practice during difficult times such as calamities and typhoons but for me it does not have to be during those times only it should be a constant practice as you said. You are right we have as a nation support locally branded, manufactured and made products...it helps in sustainability, availability of the said commodity and protects the local economy from the influx of cheap yet unreliable imports...take the shoe manufacturing Mecca of the Philippines,Marikina and how it suffers from the influx of cheap China footwear...isa lang ito sa mga example ng marami pang sector na naghihikaos na dahil walang suporta ang tao.

  8. I love your reply, every bit of it! I'm sure the printer you bought will last the same as the other brands. How do we teach people to make a committed choice? There was once a campaign Proudly Philippine Made, it's gone now. It was headed by Conception Industries. I think there's a way to get the big players involved. But the sons and grandsons of these tycoons are so focused on making money, not saving the Philippines. Maybe we should separate "love for country" from "happiness from buying worthwhile products". You just cant beat China. Or maybe we analyse these issues from a global perspective and stop having a country mentality. Go for global pride? Save the planet? Preserve cultures? Gutom lang siguro ako 🙂

  9. Agree with you on the current situation of rice. Crap. From a rice - exporting country to a rice - importing country. Heads should have rolled for this.

  10. Brother inkjet printers. It was only recently that I'd discovered it was made in the Philippines. Bought one simply because it's Philippine - made. Point taken in reference to the chicken - egg thing, but at the end of the day, all it takes is for someone to take a stand and commit to buying Philippine made products. Toothpaste. Soap. Shampoo. I check the labels for Philippine - made variants. Coffee. I gun for local coffee grounds. Restaurants have an opportunity to make a positive impact on the agri business sector, but some of these buy imported beef, chicken & pork. Granted imported products are cheaper than its local counterparts, but as I've stated, it's a committed choice. I run a meat shop and I've committed to selling only locally - sourced beef, chicken & pork. May pag asa pa ba ang Pilipinas? I was asked this question by a stranger, who was seated nearby at Starbucks, Cash & Carry. He was an OFW, who was once based in the US. I'm a Filipino - Chinese. Born & raised in the Philippines. My loyalty's to the Philippines and yes ... I still have hopes for this country ... Sorry, to disappoint you. 😃

  12. It's very much ok. I'm in my early 30's and I still do everything you listed. For as long as you are not causing harm to anyone : then don't let them dictate what you can or can't do. Personally - I'm sick of that line "You're too old of toons" from people who don't even know that the level of violence, obscenity, and anything adult-related on Anime vs your "live action" shows are very much the same (I mean, like, HENTAI, y'know?) Think of it this way : what show on local TV is out there really worth sitting in front of the TV for? It's all the same thing over-and-over : "Reality" Shows, "TeleDramas", "Variety Shows" ... at least Anime/ Super Hero show themes are broader. Anytthing special effects and a live person can't act out : the animator can draw. Keep it up 🙂

  15. My first experience with a computer game was with a Game and Watch Octopus, I borrowed from a friend, it wasn't mine. Soon after that I also played with Game and Watch Mickey Mouse Chicken Eggs. Many years passed and I haven't played with any computer games anymore. And then Mario came on Famicom. And, just now messaged my Papa. Thanking him for the Family Computer.

  16. The way we travel has definitely changed. We can no longer easily visit far off places. Some of us have opted to go on staycations. If you recently went on a staycation, please post where, how much, what activities did you do during your staycation and would you recommend it? Feel free to post photos as well. P.S. for selfish reasons, I also need recommendations as I plan to go on a staycation in a couple of weeks.

  23. When my brother's high school teacher mispronounced "water" .... Or when his english teacher said hors d'oeuvre is pronounced as "horse - devoir" And when another high school teacher is teaching drafting when she's not trained to teach drafting. Or how about when teachers can no longer fail a student despite poor attendance and dismal performance for fear that they will be evaluated against it. My aunt is a public school teacher and she can't fail a student who stopped coming to classes because her supervisor asked her "ano ginawa mo nung Hindi na say pumapasok".

  24. I agree with this. I'm more open online because of anonymity. In person, I am probably the biggest introvert you'll ever meet. Part of my maldita and suplada personality shows online though. Sometimes, you just need to be straightforward or you end up wasting time.

  26. 1984 - George Orwell I got an interest reading it when it was made as an example in one of the marketing training I attended. I also got a chance to watch the old movie of it. Brief: In a time when all are controlled by the government, and watches all the moves of the populace and constant barrage of propaganda. The main characters got in-love,rebels and indulge in subversiveness. Why do you like the book: The subject itself is timeless, the political and social landscape is still relevant up to this day and the sexual content I can consider as a bonus. Back ground: Set in UK (known in the book and the movie as Airstrip One) A good read, one can wonder how the author relates to the events that tranpires in the novel, perhaps due to his personal experiences living in those times.

  27. Our society has been bastardized with ''ALL forms and sizes'' of corruption, since the time can be remembered. For sure it was rampant during the time of the Spaniards,Americans,Japanese and up to now. It makes me wonder how the billions of pesos lost to corruption/s could have changed the lives of many...from job creation to a massive and effective transport system, better public educational system...in short a much better life for all. No matter how we safeguard and patch the holes in our procurement/spending/disbursement system...palagi pa rin may nakakalusot!

  39. 🙂 I had an Atari. I would play whatever is in the 64-in-1 cartridge. Mostly the battlestar galactica, contra, pacman, skiing(forgot the name). Then my uncle bought a family computer for my cousin and we started playing tetris. Eventually, mom bought my first desktop when I was in highschool and I can spend long nights playing minesweeper. Then, I discovered MMORPG. First MMORPG bus Pirate King Online. Then moved to Rose Online, Perfect World, etc. Fast forward years after, I started playing Cabal. Im.now a retired "gamer".
