  1. For a country that claims :bayanihan" as part of its culture, it's difficult to find this in practice. People patronizing products that have been manufactured abroad over its local counterpart. Surely our country would progress faster if people buy Philippine - made products.

  2. I'm in my 30s and I'm still at the point in my life where I collect toys, play video games, watch cartoons/AnimΓ©, and read comic books/manga. Yes, I have a career, and I do have some plans for my future. Is this normal? Or is it ok, since I am living my life and I enjoy every minute of it.

But then there's something or someone who made you smile and voila your frown has just turned into a smile. Just wanna know who or what made you smile today. It can be a person anything , even trivial things ! Thanks and keep posting.

  5. Hinde ka gutom...actually napaka valid ng point mo sir...Imagine if each and every made in China product has a ''PHILIPPINE MADE'' parts/components...eh di wow di ba? Sadly sa ngayon black sand na lang galing Norte na illegal pa atang tinitira ng China yung components na PH made...di pa na crecredit sa atin! hehehe

  6. Add to the fact that we thought or to put it lightly trained the Thailanders and the Vietnamese rice tech, farmers etc in IRRA in Los Banos,Laguna. Kaya minsan hinde ko rin masisi yung mga nagsasabi na Tayong mga Pinoy ay ang ''SICKMAN OF ASIA'' eh!

  7. Bayanihan is widely practice during difficult times such as calamities and typhoons but for me it does not have to be during those times only it should be a constant practice as you said. You are right we have as a nation support locally branded, manufactured and made products...it helps in sustainability, availability of the said commodity and protects the local economy from the influx of cheap yet unreliable imports...take the shoe manufacturing Mecca of the Philippines,Marikina and how it suffers from the influx of cheap China footwear...isa lang ito sa mga example ng marami pang sector na naghihikaos na dahil walang suporta ang tao.

  8. I love your reply, every bit of it! I'm sure the printer you bought will last the same as the other brands. How do we teach people to make a committed choice? There was once a campaign Proudly Philippine Made, it's gone now. It was headed by Conception Industries. I think there's a way to get the big players involved. But the sons and grandsons of these tycoons are so focused on making money, not saving the Philippines. Maybe we should separate "love for country" from "happiness from buying worthwhile products". You just cant beat China. Or maybe we analyse these issues from a global perspective and stop having a country mentality. Go for global pride? Save the planet? Preserve cultures? Gutom lang siguro ako πŸ™‚

  9. Agree with you on the current situation of rice. Crap. From a rice - exporting country to a rice - importing country. Heads should have rolled for this.

  10. Brother inkjet printers. It was only recently that I'd discovered it was made in the Philippines. Bought one simply because it's Philippine - made. Point taken in reference to the chicken - egg thing, but at the end of the day, all it takes is for someone to take a stand and commit to buying Philippine made products. Toothpaste. Soap. Shampoo. I check the labels for Philippine - made variants. Coffee. I gun for local coffee grounds. Restaurants have an opportunity to make a positive impact on the agri business sector, but some of these buy imported beef, chicken & pork. Granted imported products are cheaper than its local counterparts, but as I've stated, it's a committed choice. I run a meat shop and I've committed to selling only locally - sourced beef, chicken & pork. May pag asa pa ba ang Pilipinas? I was asked this question by a stranger, who was seated nearby at Starbucks, Cash & Carry. He was an OFW, who was once based in the US. My straight answer, "Kung tayo mga sariling Pilipino ay wala nang pag asa sa sariling bansa, eh di paano ang bansa natin?" I'm a Filipino - Chinese. Born & raised in the Philippines. My loyalty's to the Philippines and yes ... I still have hopes for this country ... Sorry, to disappoint you. πŸ˜ƒ

  12. It's very much ok. I'm in my early 30's and I still do everything you listed. For as long as you are not causing harm to anyone : then don't let them dictate what you can or can't do. Personally - I'm sick of that line "You're too old of toons" from people who don't even know that the level of violence, obscenity, and anything adult-related on Anime vs your "live action" shows are very much the same (I mean, like, HENTAI, y'know?) Think of it this way : what show on local TV is out there really worth sitting in front of the TV for? It's all the same thing over-and-over : "Reality" Shows, "TeleDramas", "Variety Shows" ... at least Anime/ Super Hero show themes are broader. Anytthing special effects and a live person can't act out : the animator can draw. Keep it up πŸ™‚

  21. When my brother's high school teacher mispronounced "water" .... Or when his english teacher said hors d'oeuvre is pronounced as "horse - devoir" And when another high school teacher is teaching drafting when she's not trained to teach drafting. Or how about when teachers can no longer fail a student despite poor attendance and dismal performance for fear that they will be evaluated against it. My aunt is a public school teacher and she can't fail a student who stopped coming to classes because her supervisor asked her "ano ginawa mo nung Hindi na say pumapasok".

  22. I agree with this. I'm more open online because of anonymity. In person, I am probably the biggest introvert you'll ever meet. Part of my maldita and suplada personality shows online though. Sometimes, you just need to be straightforward or you end up wasting time.

Musicians tends to look at what the society is going through...sometimes they get inspired by how good or how bad the situation is and make beautiful and meaningful music! Kaleidescope World has some hidden meaning on it.

  24. It's a chicken - egg problem. Products will not improve if nobody buys it. Nobody buys it because its low quality. In this information age, what specific product made in the Philippines is worth buying? Is there? What about Rice? Why the heck are we importing? It's because the people in high positions in DAR have something to gain if we import. Paperworks not signed, purchases not made, farmer trainings not done, farmer loans no where... so we import, and where there's import there's corruption. Left and right there's corruption. May pag asa pa ba ang Pilipinas? I'm just asking. Parang lahat ng may capability na umalis ng Pilipinas, umalis na eh. It's just the politicians (rich) and the poor (slaves) left in the PH. Lahat ng middle class walang power (karapatan) sa Pilipinas. Meron pa ba?

  26. 1984 - George Orwell I got an interest reading it when it was made as an example in one of the marketing training I attended. I also got a chance to watch the old movie of it. Brief: In a time when all are controlled by the government, and watches all the moves of the populace and constant barrage of propaganda. The main characters got in-love,rebels and indulge in subversiveness. Why do you like the book: The subject itself is timeless, the political and social landscape is still relevant up to this day and the sexual content I can consider as a bonus. Back ground: Set in UK (known in the book and the movie as Airstrip One) A good read, one can wonder how the author relates to the events that tranpires in the novel, perhaps due to his personal experiences living in those times.

  28. I like Asimov. I need to get my hands on some of his books soon. As a child, I have a complete set of "Isaac Asimov's Encyclopedia of the Universe". I think that's why I like sci-fi too. To be on topic, one of my favorite books is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I read this book in high school and I still have a copy of it until now. Douglas Adams also wrote for the classic Doctor Who series... The 6th book of HHGG was written by Eoin Colfer based on noted Adams left before he died. Sadly, the writing style is so different that I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first 5 parts of HHGG.

  33. Started with a Game and Watch (super mario) that was passed on to me when I was a kid, then Gameboy. After that, comes the Sega and Snes console. Then of course, the very first PlayStation. I can still recall when it first came, it was totally mind boggling! Then I got exposed with PC gaming (half-life, CS), the reason why I didn't get to play with PS2 that much, and made me actually skip the PS3 lol! Pretty much, I'm a more of a PC gamer, but I do appreciate (and have) the Playstation console mainly because of its exclusive titles. And I'm planning to get my hands on that PS5 once the exclusive titles that I'm waiting for comes out. πŸ™‚

Ngayon ang Buhay parang gulong na flat...hinde na halos maka ikot pataas...at ang sama pa nyan yung parte ng gulong na nasa ibaba kung minsan nakakasagasa pa ng etyas!

  38. I was on target 'til the Pandemic happened... so lahat ng nabuo at na-execute na na plano eh nabalewala. Pero ganun talaga ang buhay, we need to roll with the punches - it's one of the hardest and most painful lessons we have to go through as we get old : yung mag-fail tremendously tapos matutong bumangon ulit. Wishing everyone is safe and sana matapos na talaga itong Pandemic.

  40. Started with Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Contra and Battle City but played sporadically. Got into hardcore gaming when I first had a PC and went through burning hours in Counter Strike, NBA Live (more famous than 2K at the time), Warcraft, Battle Realms, Command and Conquer, Diablo and later on Ragnarok Online (yes, the one where you have to buy load to play). Several years later found myself spending more time in DOTA and more MMORPGs (Lineage, RAN, Cabal, Grand Chase, etc.).
