  7. Be an example of a good person. If you can’t be an example of a good person at least be an example of a reformed person. Success in life can also be achieved by not being a difficult person to be with. Happy weekend everyone!

  12. I was asked many times by different people, when I was a kid. Asked by relatives, teachers, classmates etc. Looking back I feel so lucky that people around me that time was interested in what I wanted to be when I grow up. Going back to the question... During different stages of my life I had different ambitions. Right now, I want my grandkids to go to Mars. During my 40's I wanted to be a centenarian, I ate only "painfully" nutritious food, and did "impossibly" healthy lifestyle. In my 30's I wanted to conquer the world. 20's I realized that none of my earlier ambitions were happening. That decade was the most difficult part of my life, so uncertain, so stressful, so many big decisions had to be made. That decade was also the time I read so many self-help books, which guided me through rough times. Thank you to the authors who shared their ideas with me! When I was in grade school I wanted to be a teacher, inspired by my uncles who were teachers in Ateneo de Davao. Then I wanted to be a scientist when I was in grade 4-6. I also wanted to be a priest when I was in high school, and when I was in college i wanted to be both a man of science and a servant of God, a Jesuit. Enough about me. What was your ambition? Were you able to fulfil your childhood dreams? Share your story 🙂
  13. Hello 🙂 My name is Biz. Welcome to Stars! Your name is quite tricky to shorten. Do I call you Nag? Pat? Tukso?

  14. From pan to plate. I just can’t get enough of my wife’s tomatoes and egg.
  15. Thank you to all MTC members. You've given me a chance in life. I will DO BETTER.
  16. Your new profile pic reminds me of Elvira. Your cover photo is also horror themed? My guess is, your nose is stuck between pages of a King?

  17. I would like to think that I somehow inspired the script writer of the latest SMART commercial, staring Chris Evans but, THAT would be egotistical. Striving for good has always been the objective of many, I simply am one of the many who wish for good things, one of the many who choose to do good things. In fact, honestly, it is I who got inspired by the marvelous writers of the SMART advertising agency which happens to be DENTSU. Thank you for inspiring me. Changed my name again. Do Better.
  18. The new Smart commercial featuring Captain America... I dunno if the writer is from MTC-STARS. Many parts of the script resonated with the ideas here. "Should we do good? Or should we do better?"

  19. Bright side up! Hello Sky! Kumusta ka na? Ok na operation mo? Welcome back 👍 dami ka fans dito sa Stars!
  20. Read this from the internet. Cut and paste. Western media has largely fueled the notion that being young is everything. In many respects that may be true, but not in every respect. Reaching 40 is a significant milestone, and in some cases a dreaded one. Nobody relishes getting older, yet, if you’re lucky it is assured. You are considered a member of the “middle aged” group and this comes as a shock because “they” were always that other group. You become profoundly aware of your mortality. You take stock of your life and often you’re disappointed; you expected to have achieved more or you’ve realised that the “rules of the game” were stacked against you. You may give up on your dreams and have to accept that your life trajectory is starting to look very mediocre. You may even go through a protracted period of reflection, maybe even depression, whilst you to try to find meaning, and it may take you awhile to accept it. It’s bizarre, really, because all that changed was that one number. But, you start to insulate yourself from society’s notion, and you start to recover your sense of self-worth based on your strengths. You realise that you have life experience, perhaps a good marriage, children, your health, a good standard of living, a good career and maybe some money. You may become thankful for what you do have, and you start to move forward more maturely. And then, bang, 50 arrives. WTF? However, life is not over at 40. Of course not; you’re still breathing. You’ll go through a period of adjustment and you move on. Yes, for the first time, you will experience comments about your age. You will also have youngsters ignore or avoid you, but you quickly realise that you don’t need or want their approval. There may be new aches and pains, but, for the most part, life goes on as before. Hell, I even took up skiing at 47, and at 52 I’m now a strong all-terrain skier. Try not let the number get in the way and embrace life; it is there to be lived.
