As i stepped out of the car, in front of the grand place. The whole building was well lighted and the smell of burning incense was as rancid as the Pasig river made me dizzy. I got the room number and i entered the door and as I stepped in, all the people who i’ve worked with in my teen years hugged me and shaked my hand. There were strange people who took my hand and made me sit with them. They asked about my flight and i said it was long. How’s my life working for the ‘brewery’ and i said good. The strange people were his 3 sons - all Doctors. First time i’ve seen his boys. ” We’ve decided to return this to you” one of them exclaimed and handed the watch. ” I didn’t know he kept it afterall these years!, it must be 20 years since i’ve seen this!” i gasped and smiled as i held it in my hand. ” We never expect you’d turn down the rolex but Dad always reminded us about that moment you turned it down”. ” we’re actually wondering why you did, Kat..”. “ I was too young to have an extravagant gift.” i replied. ” But did you look at the back of it?”. - No. Then i looked at the back and there were words engraved. Advertising Executive. I write copies for different companies. Honestly, i don't know how people can get to be in the Advertising field these days. Probably having an english degree or a liberal arts degree would suffice. You have to be open with current stuff like social media, music and movies. You gotta have to read a lot of books too. Just immersing yourself with words.

I think there were sacrifices that i’ve made that made my life a whole lot better. If i would follow what my relatives had advised and think of what is best for me, i wouldn’t be where i am today. I rememberedwhen i was 11 years old, one of my Aunts asked me what i wanted to do when i grow up - I wanted to be a writer, i replied and they made fun of me. Nobody would want to marry a WRITER! they taunted. So my journey began for not listening to their advice anymore and my mindset gave me the determination to work on what i wanted to do for myself, working for myself and improving myself. With so much going in my homelife - i decided to leave home after i graduated highschool and become a working student. At 18 i got a job from an Ad Agency and worked my through. I didn’t look back. I was gone from home for 20 years. People often procastinate about what they wanted to do, what life would have been or if my parents would have been kinder or either would have been there for my graduation. Everybody have a lot of issues and most of the people drown themselves with their anxiety and aims for perfection. I’m sorry if i’ve said my piece too long but hear me out as a big sister to a lot of young people who are struggling. YOU ARE ENOUGH. You are a survivor of all the chaos that happened in your life. All those lousy relationship decisions you’ve had and jobs that you wish you could have. You got what it takes to thriveand make it into the day with only enough money in your pocket. You can work things through with your issues by getting better. There are tons of resources out there than can help you. Fix your bed, clean your room, stand straight and take a good hike.

Men who are functioning drunks and have tons of kids with different women. Women who have anxiety issues, who keeps on jumping from one job to another.

When you truly love someone - it's going to be beyond judgement and without reservations. A lot of young people think that everything should be exactly like in the movies, you get the good looking guy and you'd have a couple of kids and settle what you have. Relationships have compromises. You pretty much compromise everything you've grown up believing and trying to please each other, to suit each other's needs and wants and next thing you know it's over. All it takes is Accepting that everybody are flawed and you will end up with the person who is the best one for you. He may not be handsome or she may have thick thighs but you have to admit that your standards are flawed by the stuff you see in movies and if he or she is quite the fetching character you've always dreamed about - I hope things work out for you. 🙂

The Type of guy i want to date is someone who is medium built, with a nice trimmed hair, clean cut looking fellow who doesn't have ant facial hair. I would like to be with someone who has a stable career and doesn't rush things and who is easy to get along with. I like Filipino men who are not Mama's little boy.
