  1. The Filipinos know what's happening, thanks to social media. Filipinos just don't care enough about the Philippines anymore. Our country is continually raped again and again by the same people and these offenses are continued by their sons and daughters. Why should I care for the Filipinos? Why should I care for the Philippines?

  2. How many times have you walked into a BPI only to be told by the cashier (after a long line) that the account you want to transact is a Family Savings account? This will finally be a thing of the past! BPI will merge with its Savings version in a few weeks. FINALLY! Here's the original article https://www.philstar.com/business/2021/01/20/2071807/bpi-sets-merger-thrift-arm-create-3rd-largest-bank By Ian Nicolas Cigaral (Philstar.com) - January 20, 2021 - 8:04pm MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Corp. is fortifying its banking business by merging Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) with its savings arm that once concluded would create the country’s third largest bank in asset terms. In a disclosure, BPI announced absorbing BPI Family Savings Bank to its fold and would proceed securing regulatory and shareholder approvals. The target is to complete the merger this year, with BPI as the surviving entity. The move, BPI said, will “prime the Bank to seize emerging opportunities and ultimately enhance the overall banking experience of customers,” the bank said on Wednesday. “The integration of both entities will provide considerable advantages to the customers and employees of BPI and BFSB, and present potential synergies that will benefit shareholders,” BPI said. The transaction comes at a tumultuous time for the banking sector reeling from rising bad loans and growing hesitation among themselves to grow their loan portfolio. Generating savings appeared to be a factor for Ayala’s decision, saying having a stand-alone bank also saves up reserve requirement costs. Once completed, BPI would overtake Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. as the third largest bank in asset terms. As per central bank data as of September last year, BPI’s assets would grow to P2.19 trillion once the merger is finalized, up from P1.88 trillion end-September. BPI Family, as it is, is the country’s largest thrift bank with P305.58 billion in assets in end-September, central bank data showed. The Ayala-led lender would also boost its deposits to P1.67 trillion with BPI Family deposits, up from P1.42 trillion from as of September last year. It would place behind BDO Unibank Inc.’s P2.52 trillion and Land Bank of the Philippines’ P1.98 trillion. At the same time, BPI would also be swallowing its thrift arm’s outstanding loans that would grow to P1.39 trillion, next only to BDO Unibank’s. Capitalization, based on end-September figures, would rise to P313.57 billion. Once the merger is completed, the bank said all its 8.5 million customers will be under one roof. In terms of management, 3,000 BPI Family employees would likewise be absorbed. BPI made the announcement a few hours after the stock market closed. On Wednesday, shares in BPI fell 1.54% to close at P83.20 each, tracking a downturn in the main index. “This merger has the best interests of our customers and employees in mind,” Cezar Consing, BPI’s president and chief executive, said. “Similarly, as One BPI, our employees will have the ability to work across a larger, more varied bank, while having continuity of tenure and job level,” he added.

  3. First of all, I would like to greet everyone a Happy New Year. I think that New Year's Resolution are over rated. The thing with those is that it has an expiry date. If I want to change, I would do it not because it is New Year but because I want to change for the better.

  6. Leave all devices in another area of the house. Don't bring cellphones to the eating table. You can take pictures of food but make sure you don't place your cellphone nearby. Turn off the television, turn down loud music. No gadgets in the table. Sit beside your wife, not in front. Serve your wife first. Scoop the rice from the pot onto her plate, if this is the first time you're doing it inform her that you would like to serve her first. Smile. Then you scoop rice for yourself. During the meal, when your wife is not holding her spoon or fork, surprise her by holding your wife's wrist, a light stroke down and up and then a light grip. Say something nice. Praise your children if they eat vegetables. Crack jokes, share with your children what you saw on YouTube etc. Don't ask children uncomfortable questions. You hated questions when you were a kid, your kids hate them too. Stay away from difficult topics like school work. Keep the conversation fun! Avoid placing soft drinks or any kind of beverage container on the eating table. This will encourage kids to eat more food prepared by your wife. Leave the dirty beverage containers in the kitchen. Volunteer to get your wife water or drinks when the meal is about to be concluded. Timing is key. Go to the kitchen and prepare her drinks. If its water ask if she wants it with ice or warm. After your wife is served you can then make your own glass of water or drink. Washing dishes will be another topic.

  7. Nakakalungkot! UP is the only place in the PH with a sufficient space or ground to massively organized towards a certain cause with out any permit and that the police keep thier distance( though spying is real), the media covers the anti-government protest but not the ''other'' protest by non-partisan cause oriented groups. The thing is that if communism is the enemy then take it by the horn and not by the tail. Lusubin nyo sila sa bundok at ubusin1 pero hwag naman yung karapatan na nag tipon at sumigaw! BEKENEMENSER!

  8. Our society has been bastardized with ''ALL forms and sizes'' of corruption, since the time can be remembered. For sure it was rampant during the time of the Spaniards,Americans,Japanese and up to now. It makes me wonder how the billions of pesos lost to corruption/s could have changed the lives of many...from job creation to a massive and effective transport system, better public educational system...in short a much better life for all. No matter how we safeguard and patch the holes in our procurement/spending/disbursement system...palagi pa rin may nakakalusot! Ay puts...lumamig na kape ko!
